These terms govern every order placed with Caspian Synthetics. By submitting an order you accept them in full. Please read the research use restrictions in section 2 carefully, as they define what you may and may not do with material supplied by us.
1. Eligibility to purchase
Material is supplied only to qualified researchers, academic institutions, contract research organisations and commercial laboratories. By placing an order you represent that you are at least 21 years of age, that you are acting in a research or institutional capacity, and that you are competent to handle uncharacterised laboratory materials safely.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order, request verification of research capacity, and refuse supply to any purchaser whose stated or apparent intended use falls outside these terms. Declined orders are refunded in full.
2. Research use restriction
All products are intended strictly for laboratory research and analytical use only. Not for human therapeutic or diagnostic consumption.
Products supplied by Caspian Synthetics are not drugs, foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics or medical devices. They have not been approved or evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration or any equivalent authority for any use in humans or animals.
You may not, and may not permit any third party to: administer or apply any product to a human or animal; ingest, inject, inhale or topically apply any product; incorporate any product into a food, supplement, cosmetic or medicinal preparation; or represent any product as suitable for any such use.
You may not resell, relabel, repackage or otherwise distribute products supplied by us. Material is supplied for the purchaser’s own research use only.
Breach of this section terminates your right to purchase from us immediately and voids any warranty or remedy otherwise available under these terms.
3. No therapeutic guidance
We publish molecular and analytical data only: sequence, molecular formula, molecular weight, CAS number, purity, appearance, solubility and storage conditions.
We do not provide, and will not provide on request, dosing protocols, administration guidance, reconstitution instructions intended for human use, or any statement regarding safety, efficacy or therapeutic effect. Enquiries seeking such guidance will be declined.
4. Pricing, orders and payment
Prices are stated in pounds sterling and exclude shipping and applicable taxes. We may revise pricing at any time, but the price confirmed at the point of order applies to that order.
An order constitutes an offer to purchase. A contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch. Where a product is listed in error, mispriced, or unavailable, we may cancel the order and refund you in full without further liability.
Payment is taken at the point of order for card and ACH transactions. Institutional purchase orders may be invoiced on agreed net terms following credit approval.
5. Delivery and risk
Dispatch and transit times are set out on our shipping page and are estimates rather than guarantees. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, weather or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you provide. Title passes on receipt of payment in full. You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for ensuring material is received and stored appropriately.
For international orders, you are the importer of record and are responsible for all duties, taxes, permits and compliance with the import rules of the destination jurisdiction.
6. Returns and refunds
Unopened, undamaged vials in original sealed packaging may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund less original shipping cost. Contact us for a return reference before shipping anything back.
Opened vials cannot be returned, because material integrity depends on storage conditions we cannot verify once the vial has left our custody. This does not apply to material that was defective on arrival or shipments that arrived damaged, which we replace or refund in full.
Claims relating to damage, shortage or incorrect supply must be raised within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence of the packaging and vial.
7. Warranty and specification
We warrant that products conform to the specification stated on the certificate of analysis for the relevant lot at the point of dispatch. This is the entire warranty we give.
We give no warranty, express or implied, as to merchantability, fitness for any particular purpose, or suitability for any application you may have in mind. You are responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for your intended research use and for validating it within your own systems.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental or special losses, including loss of data, loss of research output, loss of profit, or the cost of repeating experimental work.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Caspian Synthetics, its officers, employees and agents against any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense arising from your use, handling, storage or disposal of products supplied by us, or from any breach by you of these terms, including in particular the research use restrictions in section 2.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of San Diego County have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
